Boasting nearly 2,000 square feet and free Wi-Fi access, the new Subway on Rosedale is officially open.

Ricky Harden, Subway owner who also operates the East Lancaster location, said the new restaurant is larger than most of its sister locations.

“I think it’s going to be a great success along with Texas Wesleyan University, the neighborhood and different schools in the area,” he said. “We’re just looking forward to being part of the neighborhood.”

The building’s aesthetics have come a long way since the project started seven weeks ago, said Mike Anderson, remodeler with Make Ready, Inc.
“It was a nasty, burned out hole when we started,” he said. “Now, it’s a nice place. The building looks good.”

Anderson’s boss, David Hoadley, said remodeling the building took “a lot of sweat, negotiation and politics.” An east Fort Worth resident of 40 years, Hoadley said the restaurant is good for the community.

“It went from virtually nothing, to what you see now,” Hoadley said. “It’s a step forward, I believe.”
